Fall Foliage

Weather just right,
crispness in the air,
leaves crunching underfoot,
colors punch all around,
picnic with the cousins
=
perfect fall day

Pickin' in the Patch

We had a spur of the moment patch afternoon this year.  I did dress them accordingly with the idea in mind, but wasn't sure if we would be up to a Friday afternoon outing.  Cam in overalls so his tradition could continue, and Maeve in something with a touch of orange.  Moo and Granny accompanied us in the windy patch.  Cam was so big pushing the wheel barrow and jumping from row to row.  Maeve wasn't as graceful in the patch as she keeping tripping over the vines and stumbling in the tractor ruts.

We picked out three different ones...a small, medium, and large one.  It was a successful pickin'!

Upside Down

The newest craze at our house is for Cam and Maeve to share the little red chair and tilt themselves over backwards.  It looks and sounds like SO much fun!  Oh to be little...

Blessing

Our littlest blessing is learning to say the blessing herself.  She knows to pause and fold her hands.  She hasn't quite gotten the closing eyes part.  Here's our simplified version that we say before our meals:

"God is great. God is good.
Let us thank Him for our food."

A Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Although not under normal circumstances, the tooth fairy came to collect Cam's first lost tooth.  Since it was extracted and the roots were still in tact, it must have been too heavy for the little fairy to carry because she left it.  It made quite the show-and-tell object for Cam the next day.  He was instantly better.  Loving to see this smile back!

The loot!

Until next time,

Medical Month

We have declared this our medical month.  Between our well checks, sick checks, and rechecks, we cannot even total the number of $35 copays we've handed over.  (And it isn't over yet...two more appointments are lined up for next week and another the very last day of September).  Maeve started with a pneumonia scare which required chest x-rays and Cam has finished it off with one troublesome abscessed baby tooth.  Two rounds of iv antibiotics and one tooth extraction later, the only thing we have to show for any of this a tooth that looks like it belongs in the mouth of Goliath!

No pictures of sick babies!   Let's hope we will be seeing more of these smiles to come!

Maybe we do need to wash all the germs away!

I think they are making their own Get Well cards!

Holiday

When you have a bunch of holidays lumped together like we do in the summer, you don't always take full advantage of them.   My how quickly one can forget how hustly and bustly the school year can be.  Labor Day marks the first back-to-school holiday each year. So, when it rolls around, we try to take full advantage of the extra day in our weekend.  This year, we went to Memorial Park and met one of our favorite babies.  Why is it that every Monday isn't declared a holiday?

She just wanted to reach out and touch one!
Both of them had to get in some Brenna time!
