Maeve Looking Like Mama

At Maeve's Baby Brunch in February, Moo gave me a little outfit that used to be mine. Of course, in my emotional state, it made me cry thinking that I was going to get to pass down some of my own childhood things to my little girl. This would be the first of many hand-me-downs of mine.

The little outfit is pink and made out of sweater material. Evidently clothes were not made for comfort back then. It feels very scratchy for little skin. It has some lace that Doo had to treat with Heaven's Best stain remover because the yellow had set in after all those years. While it is not the most attractive outfit, it was one that I remember hanging in Moo's closet as a little girl. I would ask, whose baby clothes, and she would say, "That used to be yours." Tony laughed at it when he saw it, noting the old style of it. He said, "Are you really going to make Maeve wear that?" It has been hanging in Maeve's room waiting for the perfect moment for her to wear it for a photo opportunity. Well, today was that moment. (I've been eyeballing the size, and almost waited too late!)

Here she is in a thirty year old outfit that her mama wore. She can make anything look good!

Weekend Wonder

Playing Peek-A-Boo with Mama

Cam's Idea - Don't worry, he was only in there just long enough to take a picture

Grinning because I'm holding her treasured PUFFs right beside the camera

Our weekends have been washed out lately, so finding new things to do has been a challenge. Today Cam hid in the storage container I was about to fill with his too short 3T pants. He squeezed himself in and wanted me to shut the top. (If you look carefully you can see that he has on his pajamas. He wore them all day! Gotta love a day like that!) Maeve prefers to spend most of her time in her high chair. She loves to eat puffs and anything else that is offered. (Shirtless is the best way to eat puffs. That way all the ones that don't end up in her mouth can easily be wiped of her bare skin.) If only I had no chores to take care of, I could spend the whole weekend playing with these little bits and getting in to more and more wonder-filled times!

Father/Daughter

Father/Son

Tony has been very humbled by his Teacher of the Year experience. He was honored at a banquet one night this week with the other nine teacher of the county who won at their respective schools. He wanted us to be there, so we went in support of him. (He definitely had the smallest supporters there.) Tony's table was decorated through and through with a UGA theme. Cam loved the red and black balloons, and Maeve enjoyed knawing on the shakers. Tony loved the Vince Dooley autographed goods! I just loved being the proud wife in the background!

Little Dawgs

They both look so much older than they are:
Maeve 6 months/ Cam 3 1/2

Love the red highlighted in this one!
(Love the color one of this one too!)
Just love this Baby Girl!

These were taken on the first Georgia game of the 09 season. The McCullers had a big tailgate blowout. Cam and Maeve were dressed for the occasion. Thanks, Monica, for the great shots!

Six Months...How Can That Be?

That's right. Maeve is already six months old. That's half a year. That's halfway through her baby days. This means party planning is just around the corner, along with crawling, walking, and talking. She has mastered sitting up and loves to play with anything that's she knows isn't a baby toy. Her two-tooth grin is becoming just that; you can finally see those teeth when she shines that smile at you. She likes to blow big juicy bubbles when she's excited while making her harms go out like an airplane and then quickly back in like she's going to chop you up!

Being the experienced mother that I now am, I decided it was time to give her some "puffs." (Technically on the container it says to wait until baby lifts up her body up as in a crawl.) Well she's not quite there yet, but I knew she would love the challenge. So, I sprinkled a few on her highchair tray. Instantly she worked her propeller-like arms to the tiny unknowns before her. She worked her little fingers so they grasped one, and like everything else, put it straight to her mouth. The first few didn't quite make it into her mouth, so I helped her out a bit. She looked at me like, "Why have you been holding out on me all this time?" She knew what to do once it was in her mouth. Those little jaws started knawing away. She continued trying to get the tiny pieces into her mouth all by herself. Minutes of entertainment!
We are continuing to love our Baby Girl! Amazingly our love grows and grows!
