The 4th

It isn't every year we are home for the fourth of July, but this year we enjoyed being home. The day didn't look promising as rain darkened and dampened the morning. But after lunch, the sun broke through and paved the way for a picture perfect day. We got to enjoy an afternoon poolside at Nonna and Pop's.

Then we came home to attempt to catch a view of the fireworks from our house. And what a view we had! Moo and Doo and several neighbors came down to our yard to enjoy a laid back backdrop of fireworks. As we sat on our front lawn I caught myself looking around and soaking in my view. My life. Cam was leaning back and resting his head in my lap. Maeve was propped up beside me. Tony was close by. Moo and Doo were nearby.

The words of a popular song came to mind. "I've got all I've waited for. And I could not ask for more. Every prayer has been answered. Every dream I had has come true. I could not ask for more."

Thankful for family. Thankful for fireworks on the fourth. Thankful for our front lawn full of friends. Thankful for our freedom. Thankful for our faith in something far more fabulous than even this.
