I Thought He Walked on Water

"As the story's told, only heaven knows.
But his hat seemed to me like an old halo.
And though his wings, they were never seen.
I thought that he walked on water."

We thought that song was fitting to describe our granddaddy – a little piece of heaven on earth for us. Proverbs 17:6 reads “Grandchildren are the crown of the aged…” and as the grandchildren and great grandchildren of Doris and Edward Lowe, we can assure you that whenever we were with the two of them, they had a way of making us feel like one of the jewels in a crown just as the Bible describes.

Dear Granny and Granddaddy,
We have been so blessed to have you for grandparents. We each have memories of times with you that are priceless…times we will always hold dear. Our family tree is strongly rooted in you. Through you, we have evidence that our God is a generational God. We have experienced such great love passed down from you and will continue to pass it down to our children and our children’s children. As your grandchildren, we probably didn’t realize just how much you loved us until we saw the way you acted with our children. In the words of Matthew, “And whoever welcomes a little child in my name welcomes me.” Your nine grandchildren now boast a brood of 17 great grandchildren (and still counting!) Thank you for your example of timeless love.
